Conference “Pulmonary Fibrosis, listen to your body” November 2022
The President of the Hellenic Cystic Fibrosis Association, Anna Spinou, addressed the informative conference entitled: “Pulmonary fibrosis, listen to your body before it’s too late”, organized by the Lung Fibrosis Association “Lungs of Life”, at the Hellenic Pasteur Institute, on Saturday 22 October 2022.
Our President referred to the similarities between the two diseases of Pulmonary Fibrosis and Cystic Fibrosis, with a large part of the population unable to distinguish between the two diseases. She also spoke about the common goals prioritising prevention, early diagnosis, holistic care in specialised follow-up centres, timely access to available treatments, lung transplants and organ donation, stressing how important it is for patients to join their voices and forces by actively demanding a better quality of life.

The speakers were: Demosthenes Bouros, Pulmonologist, Professor Emeritus of Pulmonology, University of Athens, Stamatoula Tsikrika, Pulmonologist – Tuberculologist, “The Sotiria” and President of the Association of Pulmonologists of Greece, Vassilios Tzilas, Pulmonologist, Attending Physician B’, “The Sotiria”, Doctor of the University of Athens, Argyrios Tzouvelekis, Senior Lecturer, Professor of Pulmonary Medicine, Dr. Theodora Kotsopoulou, Gastroenterologist, Scientific Associate 251 GNA, Dimitrios Kuretas, Professor of Biochemistry – Biotechnology, University of Thessaly, Hercules Tsagaris, Professor of Pulmonology – Intensive Care, Director of the Intensive Care Clinic of the University of Patras, Grigoris Vassiliadis, Doctor of Psychology – Systemic Existential Psychotherapist, Evangelia Vogiatzaki, Doctor of Biology, University of Lausanne, Special Secretary of the Greek Lung Fibrosis Association “Lungs of Life”, Emmanuel Mitakis, representative of Boehringer-Ingelheim Hellas.
