The representatives of our Association, Anna Spinou (President), Konstantina Giannaki (General Secretary), Maro Gounari (Director) and Yannis Spinos (Alternate Board Member) met online on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 with the doctors, Ms. Karetsi Eleni and Ms. Perlepe Faye, responsible for the Cystic Fibrosis clinic for adults that operates at the University General Hospital of Larissa.

During the scheduled meeting, the issues concerning the operation of the clinic and the patients treated at the clinic in cooperation with the Cystic Fibrosis Centres in Athens and Thessaloniki were discussed.

The Cystic Fibrosis Clinic officially started its operation at the University Hospital of Larissa from November 2022. It operates every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month and appointments can be made through the Outpatient Clinic secretariat at 2413501179.

We continue our efforts to strengthen the Cystic Fibrosis Centres, especially the adult centres, as with the advent of innovative treatments, the survival rate of patients is increasing and it is estimated that in a few years 75% of Cystic Fibrosis patients will be adults. Our goal is to develop the possibility of providing specialized care and monitoring of patients in the region closer to their place of residence, while decongesting the two overburdened adult C.F. units in our country at Sismanoglio and Papanikolaou in Thessaloniki, where about 400 adult patients are monitored.
