The Hellenic Cystic Fibrosis Association was awarded with the Bronze Healthcare Award 2023 for its psychosocial support programme, developed to empower CF patients and their caregivers.
The award was received on behalf of the Association by the Vice President Irini Katsini and the General Secretary Konstantina Giannaki at the award ceremony held on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the InterContinental Athenaeum Athens Hotel, for the 8th year by Boussias Events and Health Daily.
The program’s acions include: psychological support groups for adult CF patients and their caregivers, online coffee breaks support meetings, as well as a full guide of benefits and rights on the Association’s recent renovated website.
In the award ceremony attended more than 400 representatives of the pharmaceutical sector, the academic and scientific community, non-profit organizations and patient associations to award the contributions to Health, Science and Society for the previous year.
The Evaluation Committee was chaired by Mr. Nektarios Tavernarakis, Vice President of the European Research Council (ERC), Chairman of the Board of Directors of FORTH, Professor, University of Crete Medical School, Member of the Board of Directors of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, while the committee consisted of pharmaceutical sector executives, company consultants, patient associations, physicians and academics, as well as representatives of national authorites and institutions, etc.
