The 3rd cycle of psychotherapy groups for patients with Cystic Fibrosis and their caregivers was completed with positive results, proving that mental health is an integral part of effective disease management. The groups are part of the activities of the Bronze Healthcare Award 2023-winning psychosocial support programme “Unlimited Breath”, which is being developed by the Panhellenic Cystic Fibrosis Association from 2022.
The psychological support groups are offered free of charge to members of the Association from all over Greece, under the voluntary coordination, guidance and scientific support of psychologist and cognitive behavioural psychotherapist Dr. Dipl.-Psych. Stavroula Rakitzi, whom we thank warmly for her voluntary offer to the members of the Association. More about the teams here.
The 3rd round of teams started on 13 January 2024 and ended on 6 April 2024. 13 meetings were held, online via zoom, once a week, lasting 1.30 hours. Read the results here.
The interest, the great participation of our members and the positive results reinforce the Association’s commitment to continue next year to provide free psychological support groups for our patients and their caregivers nationwide. Those interested in participating in the 4th cycle of the teams programme, which will take place in 2025, can register by filling in your details in the form here and we will inform you accordingly.
