The Panhellenic Cystic Fibrosis Association welcomes with pleasure the inclusion of Greek Cystic Fibrosis Centres in the Clinical Trials Network of the European Cystic Fibrosis Community (CTN-ECFS), an important development that strengthens the position of our country in European research on Cystic Fibrosis.
In the context of the recent expansion of the European Clinical Trials Network, Greek centres were accepted for the first time. The Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Center at the 3rd Pediatric Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki at the Hippocrates Hospital of Thessaloniki, as well as the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center of the Pulmonology Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki at the Hospital “G. Papanikolaou” were included in the European Network.
This development offers Greek patients with Cystic Fibrosis the opportunity to participate in research programmes and clinical studies aimed at improving our quality of life, giving us access to new cutting-edge treatments.
Our Association supports the participation of our country in the European family of Cystic Fibrosis. Ensuring equal opportunities for Greek patients with Cystic Fibrosis, compared to other European countries, is a priority. We remain firmly committed to supporting all CVI Centres in our country, healthcare professionals and patients and continue to be in close cooperation with the Cystic Fibrosis Scientific Committee.
Our goal is common: better treatments, greater access and a better quality of life for all Cystic Fibrosis patients in Greece.
