The Vice President of the Panhellenic Cystic Fibrosis Association, Konstantina Giannaki, participated in the annual event of Make-A-Wish (Make-A-Wish Greece), at the “Night of Thanks”, on Wednesday, March 19, at the Athens Concert Hall. She spoke as the mother of a child suffering from Cystic Fibrosis, 9-year-old Argyris, whose wish was granted thanks to the organization.
In an emotionally charged moment on the stage of Megaron Music Hall, Konstantina joined her voice with another mother. They shared thoughts, experiences, but most of all the strength and the daily struggle that parents have to fight alongside their children who are struggling with serious conditions such as Cystic Fibrosis. Through a lively dialogue, she talked about the agony, the adjustment, the perseverance, the struggle for “Breathless Breath”, and hope. She spoke of the strength she draws daily from her family and the “second family” she found in our Association.
Her presence was a reminder that no family is alone!
The embrace of our community and the support of each other are invaluable weapons in the daily struggle of all Cystic Fibrosis patients and their families.
Thank you to Make-A-Wish Greece for granting wishes to children with Cystic Fibrosis, giving moments of joy, strength and hope to hundreds of families. Their offer is priceless!
* This year’s “Evening of Thanks” was dedicated to the wish families, volunteers, friends, sponsors and all those who actively support the work of Make-A-Wish Greece. It was a celebration full of love, light and gratitude in a landmark year for the organization, which managed to fulfill 378 wishes granted – more than one wish a day! Wishes that are not just moments of joy, but bridges of communication, hope and reintegration for our children and their families.
